Faith Formation Collaborative
AMBS’s Faith Formation Collaborative serves the church by preparing and strengthening pastors and leaders for the responsibility of nurturing life-long growth in faith. The primary purpose of the FFC is a collaboration with the church in forming people who respond to God鈥檚 presence, sense the Spirit鈥檚 movement, and know Jesus at the center of their lives.
Nurturing authentic, vibrant faith
The Faith Formation Collaborative:
- prepares leaders to guide faith formation in congregations and communities that align with the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ;
- provides thought leadership for the AMBS learning community and beyond about the ways that communities of faith are affected by the prevailing cultural trends and narratives that both support and subvert the development of Christian faith from an Anabaptist perspective;
- creates spaces for research and learning about practices that, over time, shape and reshape the basic affections, thoughts, and actions of wise and mature Christians 鈥� revitalized old practices, new practices, and continuing practices that keep opening Christians to the love, grace, truth, and mystery of God.
Orienting With the Word
Thanks to a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., AMBS鈥檚 Faith Formation Collaborative is joining 224 other programs across the United States participating in the . The initiative鈥檚 focus on congregations resonates with AMBS鈥檚 commitment to nurturing congregational life through leadership education and producing scholarship for the church, which is reflected in our contribution to this broader effort: a program we call Orienting With the Word.
