Free lecture to focus on countering Christian nationalism

ELKHART, Indiana (911±¬ÁÏÍø) — A free lecture — titled How to Challenge Christian Nationalism: Building Peace in an Age of Extremism — will offer practical ways for faith communities to counter political idolatry, radicalization and violent extremism. 

Sponsored by 911±¬ÁÏÍø (AMBS), the lecture will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 7–8 p.m. Eastern Time. Participants can attend via livestream or in person at Kern Road Mennonite Church, 18211 Kern Road, South Bend, Indiana.

At the event, AMBS Associate Professor Drew Strait, PhD, will share insights from his new book,  (Cascade, 2024). He’ll cover why Christian nationalism is a threat to democracy and the church’s witness, and how faith communities can counter it. This event is for pastors, faith leaders, organizers, students and anyone ready to take action against the threat that Christian nationalism poses to human security and human flourishing.
